Roughly based on Japanese novelist Kan Shimozawa’s (子母澤寛) character, Zatoichi (座頭市)
, the blind traveling ronin, has created a sub-genre within Japanese cinema industry and spur a slew of films and television series. The most recent being Ichi, a distant derivative where a female version ofZatoichi takes on the role of the protagonist.
As a promotional vehicle for the upcoming premiere of Ichi, creative unit known as Theater8, an off-shoot project by luxury fashion brand mastermind JAPAN, made a collectible t-shirt. Printed on either black or white tee, with the movie title in bold, pink print on front. A skull and cross bones, a mastermind JAPAN signature, printed on the back, with a superimposed silhouette of Ichi drawing her sword.
